I am trying to make the lovely Jellyfish shrug but am having issues with the instructions and I really hope to get help so i can continue.

In the section that follows "Begin lac pattern" it says: "K3, place marker, k3, work row 1 of vine lace patt 5 times, k1, place marker, k3."

*Am I correct in that Row 1 is repeated 5x before moving on to Row 2?

I understand that after moving on to Row 2 (Purl) the 4-row pattern is repeated 3x but I am confused about the next part:

"Continue in patt, inc 1 st at each end of every 6th row 3 times (working inc sts in
stockinette), ending with a WS row "

* The sixth row would be Row 2 but if the pattern is repeated 3 times total (as stated above), row 2 has already been completed before the instruction to increase on that row... Also, if one row is increased (by 1 st) would that not affect the rows that follow to have an incorrect amount of sts?? And does the method of increase matter?

I don't know if I am misinterpreting the directions but ANY HELP from you or your followers would be GREATLY appreciated!! Thank you. I love how designers these days give tribute to the knitters of old, like Jane Sowerby's Victorian Lace Today book.opportunityknitshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07117079481971682582noreply@blogger.com
