Indigo Flowers Sketches

I suddenly remembered that I haven't done a pen-and-ink sketch for Indigo Flowers Vest yet. How can a design be a design without a line sketch? So here it is: a one minute sketch.

You see, I have finished the front pieces, but haven't started the back yet. Once again I face a dilemma. This time it's about the ratio between lace and solid Stockinette stitches.

As typed on the sketch, the dark hatches represent Calmer and the wavy lines Zephyr.

Which one do you like ;-)?

I like the left sketch better. Not much of a V fan.r

I like the V better, I think it will make the design even more slimming.

I like the left sketch..you can't go wrong with either..but the V would be more slimming.

Just discovered your blog--love it! You do some gorgeous things! Both sketches are pretty, but I'm partial to the "V" myself.

Hmmm...both are lovely, and I think you won't go wrong with either. I REALLY like how Indigo Flowers is turning out.

Normally I would vote for the V every time, but I'm concerned about taking in the V shape into the lace pattern. You've probably considered this already.

(I once created a ballet top with a snowflake eyelet pattern and I was driven completely NUTS trying to get the sloped fronts to work evenly with the eyelet pattern. It was a total be-yyatch! Lucky it was for a small child.)

Will you be able to make the V follow the left and right slanting angles in the lace? These angles might dictate the angle of the V.

The left sketch might avoid the issue and would be just as lovely. Or the V might work out fine. Just sayin'.

It's gorgeous.

I like both options -- I also wonder how difficult the V would be to accomodate...

I like the sketch on the left. I'm not so keen on a Vee shape even if it IS more slimming. You are a very talented lady.
